The AS 585 KM turns forage production for animals into an efficient and convenient task by embracing the principle of drum mowing: four flexible, swinging knife blades are fastened to the lower end of a drum and press outward when it rotates, cutting high grass up to 60 cm high a few centimeters above the ground. The long grass is then deposited in swaths for easy collection. A four-stroke OHV engine XP 200 with 196 ccm displacement and up to 4.8 hp combined with a 62 cm cutting width delivers work rates reaching 1,500 m² per hour.

The 56 volt AS-Motor Electric drive has the power of a conventional 200 cm³ 4-stroke combustion engine. Two professional portable 56 V batteries with 12 Ah each supply it with energy.
